Cryptocurrency regulation and benefits that businesses gain from blockchain discussed at Blockchain Conference St. Petersburg


Prominent blockchain specialists and gurus of the cryptocurrency market, lawyers and traders, lawmakers and developers met at the third Blockchain Conference St. Petersburg, dedicated to topical trends in the crypto industry, development of blockchain and ICO, held on February 13, 2018.

The best experts in the cryptocurrency industry shared their knowledge and practical experience with guests of the conference and what’s more provided insider information, as well as discussed challenges and mistakes faced by the industry, and reviewed case studies of integrating blockchain in business processes.

Topics and speakers

Twelve Russian and foreign crypto experts spoke about the use of blockchain in real business, regulation of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and token sales, shared experience of conducting a successful ICO.

The conference featured:

Igor Matyukhin, member of the Expert council for legal support of fintech development in the Russian Federation at the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets. The speaker elaborated on the global trends of the blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in 2018 and made a forecast about the evolution of the blockchain industry.

Alexander Tyulkanov, the Senior Manager providing legal services for technology projects at Deloitte, explained legal aspects related to ICO and smart contract execution.

Vladimir Popov, the head of Synergis law firm focusing on IT. He told about the modern technological trends, blockchain philosophy, and shared his view on how the distributed ledger technology would be changing in the future. 

Anatoly Poedintsev, co-founder and chief operating officer of the independent ICORating agency, focused attention on the initial coin offering. He highlighted what changes awaited the sector in 2018 and spoke about the importance of expert evaluation of the project before the token sale.  

Evgeny Pavlov, head of sales Russia/CIS, Bitfury Group, dwelled on the use of blockchain in national registries. The expert provided examples of pilot blockchain projects implemented on Exonum platform for land registries, healthcare sector, person identification and supply systems.

Software and hardware exhibition enjoyed a huge success among guests of the event. Main exhibitors were trading platforms, providers of equipment for mining farms, developers of specialized software.
